A Location Aware Radiation Monitoring System (ALARMS)

The keyword for nuclear safety is “ALARA.” ALARA means “As Low As Reasonably Achievable:” the goal when it comes to radiation exposure in nuclear plants. The good news, minimizing radiation exposure of workers may soon be much easier. By merging Q-Track’s location data with radiation dosimetry, radiation workers throughout the facility or even robots, can map out and identify potentially dangerous levels of radiation. A radiation map updates immediately as workers with dosimeter/location tags move through the facility. This radiation mapping provides a prompt indication of emerging problems and enables workers to reduce cumulative dose and avoid radiation hazards.
Q-Tracks Location Aware Radiation Monitoring system is fully compatible with Mirion Technologies, WRM2 Wireless Remote Monitoring System. When combined with Mirion’s iPAM-TX, the Q-Track system can provide real-time, location aware, radiation maps of a workers environment.
